What's the posting schedule for The Angel of St. Thomas?
The Angel of St. Thomas will be posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week, beginning January 1, 2008.

Beginning with Issue # 0 - the origin issue - this first adventure of AoST consists of nineteen issues, averaging about eighteen pages (counting cover) per issue, plus a six page epilogue. All told that's roughly 348 pages. Posted twice a week, the first adventure will wind up about May, 2011, at which point we'll probably do a couple of quick side stories then move on to the second adventure. In its current draft, the second adventure will last around 300-350 pages. (The first adventure storyline manuscript is already finished.)

Will there be filler?
I suppose the best answer is, "Yes, but...". We currently do NOT plan to run fan filler. We may decide to run a poster page or two, or even a quick four to eight page side story between every several issues. But those will be planned: The upcoming issue will already be finished.

Reality Check: Being professionals in our respective fields - Steve being far more well-known and emtrenched in his art than I am in my writing - we understand the importance of deadlines and meeting them. That's the good news. The bad news is that the same professions that give us the want to be professionals are also the ones that pay us. So if we must choose between projects that we are contractually obligated to meet - and are paid for as well - and AoST... well... I'm sure you come to the same conclusion as we have.

What about fan art and fan fic?
We both love fan art and fan fic in its purest form. But let me stress this: IN ITS PUREST FORM. When readers post art and fiction about AoST to their own sites or to the AoST site (we'll be setting up a gallery and library), and the art and/or stories are kept within the rating and spirit of the original AoST, we'll happily support and display it.

Should a "fan" decide to make copies to sell, we'll take exception. We retain all rights to the AoST comic, its images and its characters.

Will the posting schedule increase?
Should the popularity (and donor support) of AoST prove to be very successful, Steve and I will work to increase postings to three times a week; probably Tuesday, Thursday and Satuday.

Heck... If we become the hottest thing on the Internet and are raking in the big bucks from the strip, we'll post five days a week, do appearances, and start some major marketing.

And I want a pony, too...

Will you guys be appearing at conventions?
Count on it. Steve's already a fixture at a couple dozen anime conventions around the US and Canada each year. His schedule can be seen at:
http://stevebennettart.com/calendar.htm

I am currently a guest at six or so science fiction literary conventions each year, mostly on the east coast. My schedule is listed here:
http://www.shardsuniverse.net/

BattleAngel doesn't currently have a convention appearance list, but I don't think we'd have to twist his arm too much.

And this is before the AoST launch. With popularity comes invites, and as experienced con goers who love to meet our readers and fans, you can be sure we'll be accepting invitations by conventions that want AoST there.

Will there be AoST merchandise?
Yup. What, exactly, we haven't decided. Some things sell well, others not so well. And others are hot and cold. But, yes, there will be merchandise, dependent upon demand and popularity. And since we're doing all the original strips in high definition, large page format, we already have what's needed to release the issues in dead tree format, should the demand be there.

NEWS

News entry for Tuesday, September 7th, 2010
She's So Young.
I'd originally worried over how I was going to keep track of all this time-jumping, and all the complex - to say the least - relationships Celeste was going to have with anyone outside of her crew. I'm working from one primary focus: Celeste. So long as I look at her life experiences as the linear time component, then everything else will be on that time line. Not that there still won't be some tricky stuff coming up. I just hope I won't get our readers and us lost as we move along.

DIFFERENT KIND OF
WALLPAPERS!
Starting this month and running through the end of Issue 04, we'll be giving out multiple wallpapers to donors AND people who post in the forum. Each wallpaper is going to be a nice image of a crew member, along with a short character bio. The pages will eventually end up on the new site's CAST PAGE, but the images there will be smaller and lower rez. So consider donating and/or posting during Issue 4! Donors receive all wallpapers for the month, while anyone who posts in the forum will receive the month's first character image. (Donors also receive any bonus images Lily may decide to create in a month.) There will be two to four images each month. A snippet of the first one will be going up once we start that character's story on September 14th.
